Programmes
Namaste!
Events and seminars are open to Guides and Scouts, their families and friends, groups and individuals, men and women. Choose from a wide range of event themes. Whether you work with local social organizations to secure the rights of children, discover music and dance in Bollywood movies, focus on multicultural communication and leadership, or investigate global themes during an international seminar, you will get an inside look at India that a tour could never provide.
During your programme, experience the excitement of Indian life as you try Indian food, visit an outdoor market, go sari shopping, visit famous sites, try Indian art, and more. Throughout your stay, you will discover the unexpected as you are invited to join the neighbourhood boys in a game of cricket, get invited to a community celebration, go for harrowing rickshaw rides through the streets of Pune dodging cows, goats, and sheep, wander through the markets, climb to a hilltop for views of Pune, learn yoga, or try meditation.
Events and seminars vary from 6 to 12 days in length and are scheduled from January to March and June to December of each year. View a sample event schedule.
For people interested in staying for a longer period of time, the Community Volunteer Programme offers adult WAGGGS members the chance to volunteer with an Indian community organizations. This three month programme runs twice a year. Participants contribute to women & children in the community by leading songs and games, teaching computers, working on literacy programmes and sharing personal skills.
Included are an extensive orientation programme, placement with the organisations, language lessons, participation in sessions occurring at the centre and the opportunity to share the fun and friendship of international Girl Guiding and Girl Scouting.
If you are in Pune and wish to stop by for a day visit please contact us and a tour can be arranged.
Full details are outlined in this website with event dates and theme descriptions located on the Calendar page. For further information contact info@sangamworldcentre.org and read the document Coming to Sangam.

Your site was very helpful. I'm doing a badge and the program asked for me to research one of the world centers. So I chose Sangam. Your site has opened my eyes to the wonderful things you do at Sangam. Hopefully I will be able to one day experience it myself. Thank you.
