For those in the UK register with www.easyfundraising.org.uk
Then ask your supporters to do all their on-line shopping through the website. It costs nothing and there are 350 websites signed up from Lastminute and Ebay to Amazon and the AA. A percentage of any money spent is then donated to your unit!
It really is that easy - email me if you have any questions.
All I ask is that if you do sign up say Vision Rangers recommended you (we get more money and again costs you nothing!).

you can collect old newspaper, old books, unwanted plastic, etc from houses & sell it to Bhangarwalla's
Bhangarwalla's are people in the society who buy recycleble items.

A good idea at a fundraising event is to sell/give away items similar to those unique to where you would like to travel. My troop was going to Our Chalet so we sold Swiss Chocolates.

A popular, quick and very easy way of fundraising here in Australia is a $50note grid. All you need is a $50note, envelope, pen and piece of card/paper.
You take a $50 note and seal it in an envelope. Then rule up a 10x10 grid (100 squares) and number from 00-99 (ie 00, 01, 02, 03 etc)
You 'sell' the squares for $2 each, the donor puts their name and contact phone number in each square that they 'purchase'. Once the whole grid is filled, open the envelope and locate the serial number on the $50note. The owner of the square which matches the last 2 digits of the serial number wins the $50 note. And you have raised $150 (possibly in just a few days)!!
