I came to India in September 2007 planning on spending just three months working as Community Volunteer, what I got was so much more then I would have as an tourist. Working at Mobile Crèche and living in India changed my outlook on life and what is important. So many of the children I worked with and the families I met had so little, yet were still much happier than many people I know at home.

I couldn’t imagine leaving this wonderful community, both the Sangam and Indian families I had met, after just three months. Thus, when I was asked to stay at Sangam for another three months as a Programme Assistant I couldn’t resisit. Although different than working in the community, as a Programme assistant I have the opportunity to, not only learn more about Indian culture, but teach others about it too. I have also had the opportunity to meet so many more guiding friends from around the World and experience a little of each of their cultures too, if only for a short while. I enjoy my time hear & looking forward to make the most of my next three months at Sangam.

Sangam has provided a life changing experience that until now only lived in my wildest dreams.
